PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
33 years of experience with a broad base of professional and creative positions. Project manager, designer, presentation artist, production architect, design development, small office manager, and sole proprietor of presentation art firm. Other areas of involvement include client relations, graphic design, interior/space planning, contract administration, 3-D CAD.
Most recently, 1-½ years as a partner in a residential/small-commercial firm. 11 years with Jon Sayler Architects focusing on residential, light commercial and dental facilities as designer, project manager, and illustrator, and other varied roles. Prior to this, a sole-proprietorship architectural presentation firm for 5 years. And before this, 15 years experience in Spokane, Washington and Missoula, Montana in a variety of firms ranging in size from 4 to 45 persons.
PROJECT RECORD
Key roles with a variety of building types including libraries, schools, apartments, condos, elderly housing, supermarkets, churches, post offices, military housing, dental facilities, residences, office buildings, restaurants and hotels. In addition, less common building types such as a domed museum/archive facility, small TV studio, entry and tramway pavilions for Expo ’74, multimedia viewing/listening space, university fire and safety improvements, National Guard armory, and GSA office building. A prime designer on winning entry in national design competition for $40 million project.
High, medium, and low-rise structures encompassing new construction, renovation, major addition and remodeling. Many agencies including historic preservation, HUD, GSA, Corps of Engineers, Air Force, university planner/architects, building and zoning officials and architect/building representatives for large corporations. Building sites include locations in Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, and Alaska.
EDUCATION
Graduated with honors, Bachelor of Architecture, WSU, 1969. Summer workstudy grant, London, England, membership, Scarab architectural honorary, Tau Beta PI engineering honorary. Teaching assistant and student AIA positions. Registered in Washington since 1975, Montana beginning in 1976, Idaho in 2000, NCARB since 1976.
